Phixman Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is a one-of-a-kind Startup idea for gadget repairs. The cornerstone of this enterprise is to provide a proactive and personalized service for every customer. Users can easily shop services on their online platform and experience their great hospitality at Phixman offline stores, nationally. The Main service provided is gadget repairing services. The company was launched in 2015. We are publishing an interview with Mr Shaad Rehman, CEO and Founder of Phixman.com:
Shaad, a 27-year-old Mechanical Engineer from Patna met his co-founder at Institute of Science and Technology (IIST) Indore, Madhya Pradesh. They both shared a common enthusiasm for technology and gadgets. Therefore, they decided to do something related to gadgets in future. After graduation in 2014, Shaad started working with Asahi India Glass Ltd, a glass manufacturing and Supplier Company in India with a decent package. He worked as a Senior Manager for a year in Asahi. Later on, he decided to focus on a “gadget repair startup”. He was determined to follow his passions which led to the invention of Phixman in 2015.
Q.: What is the problem you are trying to solve?
Ans: Being in a digital era, repairing electronic gadget is a major issue but in a service sector business, our aim is to provide the best man power and services to the clients. It requires a lot of technical knowledge to deal with each query in repairing business so we had to hire best repairing engineers. We overcame all our loopholes and established this business. The best bet with Phixman is we take care of every brand of Smartphone and Laptop that is available in Indian market right now, with rates and quality that is second to none.
Q.: Can you share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?
Ans: In this tech savvy world everybody is depending too much on technology for work whether it be phone or laptop and if by any chance the gadgets break down, it creates a big mess for them. In my surroundings I have seen people struggling for their gadgets repair and that made me believe that this problem is big enough and instant solution is required so I started Phixman.com. I believe proper service and customer satisfaction is one of the most vital aspects of any business. Through some personal experience, I have learnt that customers always look for better services and after sale service. That is where we excel and try to satisfy our customers with better deals.
Q.: Tell us about the Product / Solution. Explain how you went about the Product-Market Fit Process.
Ans: We provided gadget oriented post sale services, as per our data E-Commerce market is growing to a great extend. Like any other E- Commerce website, we provide mobile repair services online which is one of its unique concepts till date. We can repair any gadget and our customers pay us after they are satisfied with the service. We were fitted in the market as we provide service within the comfort zones of the our customers.
Q.: What is your USP?
Ans: Our services is in four easy steps, first the customer books repair online adding all the details about the problem in the device then we send our delivery boy to pick up the device from the address mentioned. In the next step we diagnose the device and repair it and send it back to the customer safe and solid with all their data intact. One thing that sets us apart from our competitors is our guaranteed service. We guarantee 24 hour repair, home picking of gadget, safety of data and most importantly payment after customer satisfaction. We charge after we deliver the gadget to the client and they are satisfied for the fact that their device is completely repaired with all the data in it. Also we have dedicated exclusive stores that are looking forward to customers who want personal assistance care and understanding.
Q.: What were your assumptions when you entered the market, learning that you have?
Ans: Assumptions were very clear and straight, we had a data which proved that market of refurbished market will get a twenty percent hike in one year. There will be a twenty to twenty five percent increment in future projections of the companies which are coming up with refurbished phones and gadget repairing. Any person at any place of any age who uses a gadget is our ideal customer. We have more than one lakh customers who are signed in with us currently.
Q.: What has been your biggest failure as an entrepreneur and what did you learn from it??
Ans: I would not regard it as a failure but there are some initial struggles which every business face in terms of creating goodwill in the market and also growing with the cliental. Those initial days of struggle taught me to be patient and work hard to establish my business.
Q.: How are you pricing the Product? Explain your thought process.
Ans: We at Phixman are very efficient at our service part, we provide our customer good technology which is cost effective and is available at our all offline and online stores. We target people to buy back refurbished phones and genuine repair services.
Q.: How did you get your first customer?
Ans: It was a big day for me when I got my first client. I still remember his name which is Mr. Narshimha Rao from Indore. He was sitting in office when he gave us a call to get his gadget repair and was really happy to hear from us when we told him about the fact that we can repair his gadget in his office. He booked the order online and that was my first order in 2015.
Q.: Please tell us about the investors (if any)
Ans: We are a self funded company, we do not have any investor till date but we are open to opportunities for investment in future.
Q.: Is there any interesting success story? If yes, please write about it. ?
Ans: My brand depicts my success story; we have received and maintained more than one lakh orders in one year. We have also opened 30 stores nationally and also are going international in short span of time.
Q.: What is the big picture of your startup? Is this Product/service leading to something bigger? If so, how?
Ans: We are totally self-funded and we have no financial liability. Our profit making is such in this industry that all our all business expenses are met adequately. Recently, we have collaborated with Detel and its new brand Pre – Loved Device in which we will be selling refurbished phones with six months warranty and that to at a very low cost. We would say we want to set a benchmark in repairing industry in such a way that Phixman should be the name whenever someone needs gadgets repairing whether in India or internationally and for this we intend to launch 500 stores worldwide very soon. We are working to create awareness among Electronics brands in Indian and International market who is working hard for post retails services for achieving customer loyalty. To all those brands Phixman is a complete end to end solution for them ready with service and retail channels.
Q.: Since inception, give us a sense of the value of business done by your venture?
Ans: Current turnover annually since 2017-19 is approx. fifteen crore with overall work. We have an estimate of to reaching fifty crore by the end of 2019.
Q.: What is the insight that you have about this market, which no one else has? Uniqueness about your Startup.
Ans: Gadget repairing issues and Refurbished mobile and other related categories are growing rapidly in India. Marketing capital in this category is also going higher. Refurbished electronics provide more value at a better cost and customer satisfaction. Our refurbished mobile phones are a great choice for people who can’t afford mobile phones of higher price. The uniqueness about our brand is that we provide within 24 hours repair services and door step services to our customers with our latest technology.

Ans: Our competitors include Cashify, Yantra, Buzzmeeh, Mobex, Big Fix, Ifixit, Just like New and Shatter Fix. We differentiate our brand with others with our greatest USP that is, door step services and gadget repair at home of our customers with latest technology.
Q.: What would be your goal to accomplish in the next six months?
Ans: Future plans, we would say there is a common plan for every business and company which is to grow and get worldwide presence and make goodwill in the market. We would say we want to set a benchmark in repairing industry in such a way that Phixman should be the name whenever someone needs gadgets repairing whether in India or internationally and for this we intend to launch 500 stores worldwide very soon.

Ans: I would just say that as an entrepreneur, our core responsibility lies with our customers. We must maintain that sense of credibility and satisfaction for our customers, so that they don’t face any problems or issues with any kind of services provided to them.
