Mumbai, October 29, 2026: Docterz, a healthcare technology company founded by practising paediatrician Dr Atish Laddad, has raised ₹5 crore from approximately 35 investors. Notably, nearly 60% of the funding, close to ₹3 crore, has come from around 20 doctors who actively use the Docterz platform.

The investor group also includes Vineeta Singh, Co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, and Avnish Anand, Co-founder and former CEO of CaratLane.
The funding milestone reflects growing confidence in Docterz’s vision of building a technology platform designed specifically for medical practitioners, combining modern practice-management tools with a strong focus on patient data security, clinical independence, and preserving the doctor-patient relationship.
Built by a Doctor, Backed by Doctors
Founded by paediatrician Dr Atish Laddad, Docterz was created to address the everyday operational challenges faced by doctors while managing their practices.
The platform helps practitioners streamline:
- Electronic medical records
- Appointment management
- Billing
- Vaccination tracking
- Patient engagement
- Administrative workflows
The company’s approach centres on making technology practical and relevant to the way healthcare professionals work.
Dr Atish Laddad, Founder, Docterz, said: “As a paediatrician, I started Docterz because I understood the challenges doctors face while managing a practice. Doctors want to give their patients the best possible care, but they also have to manage documentation, staff, appointments, follow-ups and the many other demands of running a clinic.”
He added: “Our ambition is to make Docterz the natural first choice for doctors who want the latest practical technology to run and grow their practices, along with confidence in how patient information is handled. We will use this funding to grow organically, explore inorganic opportunities and bring practical AI tools to the doctor community—tools that solve everyday problems and fit into the way doctors work.”
Commenting on the significance of the round, he further said: “What makes this funding round special for me is that around 20 doctors who use Docterz have chosen to invest in its future. They know the product, they have seen its evolution, and they understand the needs of the medical community. Their trust brings with it a responsibility to keep listening and building for doctors.”
Doctors Become Stakeholders in the Platform They Use
Among the investor group are several doctors who have been long-time users of the platform.
Dr Dhananjay Sangle, a paediatrician and Docterz user-investor, said:
“I have been using Docterz for several years across my clinic’s paediatric and OB-GYN practices, and have found the software smooth, fast and easy to use. I have also known Dr Atish Laddad both personally and professionally for nearly 20 years, and have always been impressed by his business acumen, efficiency and dedication. My decision to invest in Docterz stems from my experience as a user as well as my confidence in the person building the company. I believe in what Docterz is working to achieve for the medical community.”
Backing from Prominent Entrepreneurs
Vineeta Singh, Co-founder and CEO, SUGAR Cosmetics, said: “One of the strongest signals for any business is when its customers are willing to invest their own money in it. That is what drew me to Docterz. Dr Atish has built technology for his own community, and the doctors who use it every day are now choosing to invest in its future.”
She added: “I have always believed that the best way to solve a difficult problem is to have people who understand it deeply and dedicate themselves to solving it. Having worked with many entrepreneurs, I know how rare and hard-earned this kind of trust is. I am excited to back Dr Atish and his team and believe they are only getting started.”
