About the Founders
Niraj Agrawal and Gopal Prasad started working together since the inception of our organization. We are publishing an interview with Mr. Niraj Agrawal – Managing Director, Engagemytalent HR Solutions LLP.

Q. Name of the Core team members , their designated roles.
Our Core team consist of 3 Members:

  • Ranjana Sen, is the Head of the Operations who specializes in managing the operations of the Company. She has the domain experience of more than 15 years into Corporate and has worked with various Sectors in the past.
  • Priti Saha, Team Lead, who is responsible for managing the Team of Hr Recruiters . Again she had worked in multiple profiles in the past and has more than 10 years of Industry experience.
  • Neeli Maitra, Head of the Business, who is responsible for Client Relations and also responsible for Client Acquisition and brand promotion. She has an overall work experience of more than 8 years and has worked in the USA in past in HR Domain.

Now you would be amazed to know that all these above mentioned ladies had taken sabbatical from their work at some point of time in their lives due to marriage or other family responsibilities and now here they are forming our core team. So you can easily gauge the kind of journey which they had traversed and how they had evolved in due course of time. We as an employer believe in the idea of providing equal opportunities to all and sundry. We are of the belief that a woman need not be empowered by us. She is already empowered. All she needs is the opportunities.

Q. What is the problem you are trying to solve ? Please share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?
The biggest problem in India at this point of time in terms of unemployment is the lack of required skills sets for the majority of the jobs available and as per the recent report by UNICEF majority of the Indians would not have the required skill sets for 21st century Jobs by 2030. So we are staring at a situation which is likely to spell doom. We as a Human resource consultant are trying to bridge that gap by equipping people with the required skill sets and once they have acquired the same we help them find the relevant opportunities & avenues.

Q. Tell us about the Product/Solutions. How did you get your first customer? Explain how you went about the Product Market fit process?
We offer all the services under the Gamut of Human Resources, ranging from Recruitment to Payroll processing. We got our first customer through one of my personal references.

Our services are tailor made for different set of requirements for different set of clients and at the time when we started off with our operations there was a serious dearth of HR Consultants in Kolkata. People had this misconception that HR was only about recruitment and we have been successfully able to break that perception & create awareness that there is more what you can expect from an HR Consultant apart from recruitment.

Q. What is your USP? What is the insight that you have about this market which no one else has ? Uniqueness about your start up.
To be very honest our major USP has been our honesty & dedication towards our clients and it holds true till this date. We as an organization do not believe in doing different things rather we believe in doing things differently. We spend a lot of time in researching on the requirements of different clients in order to come up with the best possible solutions and off course within their budget.

Q. What were your assumptions when you entered the market, learning that you have ?
We started off with a clean slate. We absolutulely did not have any pre conceived notions about the market as we have always believed that assumptions can be a recipe for disaster. Every customer is an ideal customer for us be it a Job Seeker or be it a Job Giver.

Q. How are you pricing the Product?What is the logic behind it ?
Well this is something which is confidential to us but I can assure you that our services are reasonably priced , very competitive and cost effective.

Q. Is there any interesting success story ?
There are many. We have been able to build a credibility with our clients and you would be surprised to know that we have a 100% success rate when it comes to retaining our clients. So that itself is a great success story.

Q. What is the value of Business done by your startup?
Here is an interesting fact about our business which might sound exaggerated. We reached our break even point in the 3rd month itself and from the 4th month onwards we started to make profit and till date we have been successful in placing more than 500 candidates in a short span of 2 years.

Q. What is the big picture of your startup? Is this Service leading to something bigger ? If so how?
Well as of now we want to consolidate and strengthen our position in the market and offcourse we also plan to scale up our operations as the nature of our work is such that we have enormous scope of scaling up. We wish to start off with our operations in Bangalore by the beginning of next year.

Q. Who do u perceive as your competition? How do you differenciate yourself with them?
Well to be very honest we are really not bothered much about our competitors as we have set the benchmark in the market. The only competition which we have is with us as we want to better the benchmark.

Q. What are your goals for the next 6 months.
To start off an operational unit in Bangalore and to explore opportunities in other metros like Hyderabad and Pune.

Q. What is your message to fellow entrepreneurs?
My message is do not have a pre conceived notion regarding the Market Dynamics. Operate with a fresh set of mind and certainly you would achieve your goals.
