Mumbai | 22 September 2026: Montran India, a global financial infrastructure technology company, has enabled MyUPI, UPI Tap & Pay, and Contextual EMI through its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) Issuer Switch, supporting banks in operationalising new capabilities introduced at the Global Fintech Fest 2026.

This comes as UPI continues to scale, with 24.51 billion transactions worth ₹29.82 lakh crore (₹29.82 trillion) processed in August 2026, up 22% year‑on‑year.

Montran already has a significant presence across India’s payment infrastructure, processing 140 million transactions daily, powering 40% of RTGS and 53% of NEFT transactions nationwide.

  • UPI Tap & Pay:
    • Allows payments at compatible POS terminals by tapping NFC‑enabled phones.
    • Montran collaborated with NPCI and bank teams to complete solution design and customisations within 30–45 days, following proof‑of‑concepts and NPP certification.
