We are publishing an interview of Mr. Parsa Sai Karthik, Spectra Assistive – This Vijayawada based startup is all about providing assistive technologies for the differently abled to overcome their odds.
Please tell us about the founders:
Parsa Sai Karthik–I am the founder of this startup called Spectra-assistive. I am under-graduated ( 3rd year ug) – bio-medical engineer. I am technically sound in electronics and can make any device more user-friendly, cost effectiveness with increase in efficiency.
What is the problem you are trying to solve? Can you share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?
PROBLEM AREA:
At present 2.1% of India’s population suffers from disability. Almost 12.6 million males and 9.3million females suffer from disabilities. These people are often either abounded or house bound due to their inability to cope up well with the computerised world.
SOLUTION:
- So to overcome this problem we took a small initiative which can help a portion of them, i.e. those who can’t use their hands.
- This thought led us to rise the idea called “Super Mouse”which is a new innovation in optical mouse. This uses a new way of handling an optical mouse which enables even the physically handicapped people to use a computer mouse through their facial Movements and voice commands.
- This is a boon for the handicapped people and actually help them to get well along with the present computerised generation and also help them getting into the companies which use computerised machines.

What is the uniqueness about your Startup?
Our innovations are arises from the customer centric approach which they would love to applicate them in their day to day lives. our products are more efficient with cost effectiveness, so that even a common man can afford our products and can make their lives independent.
What is the revenue model? What is the logic behind it? What is the model you are following – Free / Freemium / Premium etc. ? Explain your thought process.
Our product is integrated with a software and hardware so this software has some great value propositions in security and it comes under Subscription Revenue Model (terms and conditions apply) having single purchase for to subscribe model.
Coming to the hardware, It comes under single purchase model and the additional service charges apply. And this hardware part can be marketed by using different channels which include direct sales and B-B collaborations.
The targeted B-B are the NGO’S working to empower the disabled sector.
Who are the consumers that you are targeting? How is this going to affect them?
Our Targeted customers are the specially abled people having spinal disorders, people with out upper limbs, any sort of accidents which effects the upper limbs.
Most of them having a psychological feeling that “why they are depending on others for everything”. so to give some sort of mental support for them with technology, we decided to introduce our product called “super-mouse”. now a days computer plays a key role in providing employment opportunities to make independent living. so the people having disabilities cant interact with the computers to make their lives independent. For the people having moment disabilities, we provide a complete hands-free mouse for the disabled to interact with the computer more efficiently and live their lives independently.
What is the big picture of your startup? Will it lead to something bigger? If so, how?
Service of mankind is service to God. We should With this in our mind we decided to help the physically challenged people.The main motto of this start up is to help disabled people to overcome their odds for a better tomorrow by providing innovative user friendly and easily handled assistive devices.Thinking innovative and bringing them to reality is our way of success.
What is the success story of your startup in your own words?
First of all, I want to thank God for throwing me out in an awesome web called IB Hubs.there I have learned all the business aspects which are going to be a great stepping stones for my startup.and now my mind is tuned in such a way that, in every single aspect I am thinking in an entrepreneurial mindset. So I thank u IB Hubs for such mentoring.
Till now I have not faced any such great failure, All because of my parents and friends support. And mostly I am very lucky to have such parents because in every aspect of my success journeys, There blessings and support are there for me.

From childhood, I am very unlike from others, always concerned about my future and mostly I have a great love and respect towards my nation.Having love towards nation makes my thought process to think about others and help them.so for that I don’t like a regular journey after graduated, I want to take risks in life that voluntary or involuntary helps the nation.I should be like a one for the million but not one in a million. so I took this initiative to provide assistive support for the specially abled people.
