Bengaluru, August 21, 2025 — Edgehax, a pioneering Edge AI hardware platform startup, has successfully raised Rs. 1.39 crore in a seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures. The Bengaluru-based company is building India’s first comprehensive modular Edge AI hardware platform that integrates compute, network, and storage capabilities into a single board solution.
The fresh capital will fuel Edgehax’s ambitious expansion plans, including scaling manufacturing operations, accelerating new product development, and establishing a stronger footprint in international markets across Singapore, the United States, and Europe.

Addressing India’s Hardware Independence
Edgehax’s integrated hardware platform is already making significant impact across diverse sectors, powering applications in industrial gateways, humanoid robots, autonomous vehicles, drones, and Indian defense systems. The company’s solutions support NavIC-based tracking systems and 4G/5G connectivity, all running on their proprietary DvarOS™ operating system specifically designed for Industrial Edge Gateways.
Currently serving over 150 startups, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and large enterprises, Edgehax enables rapid prototyping, development, and scaling of hardware-first products through its unified platform approach.
Strategic Partnerships and Recognition
The startup has achieved several notable milestones that underscore its growing industry prominence:
NXP Silicon Seeds Program 2025: Edgehax was selected for this prestigious program to develop an exclusive low-cost Edge AI compute module based on NXP semiconductors, targeting global automotive and consumer IoT applications. The product launch is scheduled for December 2025 in Singapore, alongside NXP.
Government Support: The company has secured backing from Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and received the MeitY Bhashini Startup Velocity 1.0 program award to develop hardware enabling mass-market adoption of the Digital India Bhashini Voice AI platform.
Educational Impact: Edgehax has facilitated development programs for over 100,000 students and faculty across 30+ universities and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), establishing a strong foundation within India’s academic ecosystem.
Vision for Global Leadership
“At Edgehax, our goal is to become a global pioneer in Edge AI Gateways and Single Board Computers by delivering fully integrated hardware platforms with open-source firmware and scalable cloud software,” said Prabhu Stavarmath, CEO and Co-founder of Edgehax. “We’re enabling rapid product development for startups, enterprises, and OEMs worldwide.”
The company has set an ambitious target to empower over 100 million developers using its boards and tools across APAC, the US, and Europe by 2029. “Our bigger goal is straightforward: become the go-to design and manufacturing partner for enterprises and OEMs that need hardware which is ready to use and easy to customize,” Stavarmath added.
Positioning itself as “India’s answer to Raspberry Pi,” Edgehax aims to showcase Make in India capabilities to global stakeholders through consistent product development and local manufacturing excellence.
Community-Driven Growth Strategy
Edgehax has built its success on a robust community-driven approach. The company provides a comprehensive hardware distribution platform for fabless OEMs to bring products to market rapidly while leveraging its developer community across top-tier research institutions in India.
“Developers, students, and researchers using our kits are not just early adopters but also key drivers of awareness, helping our brand grow primarily through word-of-mouth,” explained Stavarmath. “This bottom-up approach is creating a hardware ecosystem where new products can be tested and scaled faster.”
Investor Perspective
“Despite India being one of the largest markets for technology and AI, it lacks a domestic hardware prototyping platform,” said Vikram Ramasubramanian, Partner at Inflection Point Ventures. “Startups, OEMs, and enterprises have been forced to rely on foreign-made boards and compute modules.”
Ramasubramanian emphasized that the investment comes at a pivotal moment when the government is prioritizing India’s need for domestically designed and manufactured flexible hardware solutions that are accessible, reliable, and affordable. “Edgehax is at the forefront of this transformation, with both innovative product development and a community-led ecosystem that enables quick and reliable scaling.”
Inflection Point Ventures has invested over INR 800 crores across 220+ businesses, bringing significant expertise and network value to Edgehax’s growth journey.
Proven Leadership Team
Prabhu Stavarmath, Co-founder and CEO, brings over 15 years of experience in IoT hardware, product development, and enterprise sales. He has previously built two startups that served over 100,000 customers and generated revenues exceeding half a million dollars, while helping scale IoT and cloud solutions for global clients.
Savitri Patil, COO and Co-founder, contributes extensive expertise in operations management, supply chain optimization, logistics, and team workflows. With a strong background in electronics and experience spanning manufacturing and IoT prototyping, she leads Edgehax’s mission to streamline hardware development for innovators across India.
Manufacturing Excellence and Market Outlook
Demonstrating its commitment to domestic manufacturing, Edgehax has successfully designed and prototyped all its boards entirely in India, reinforcing the country’s push for electronics independence. The company currently has over 5,000 edge gateway boards in production, with approximately 10,000 compute modules for consumer appliances expected to launch by December 2025.
The timing is opportune, as the global edge hardware market is projected to more than double by 2030, reaching nearly USD 59 billion from approximately USD 26 billion in 2025. This growth is driven by the proliferation of connected devices—from smartphones and industrial machines to everyday IoT products—all requiring real-time data processing closer to the point of generation.
